How did you get your start in this career field? Back in the late 80’s and early 90’s I used to take new instructor hiring clinics at Park City. It was a cheap way to get coaching and skiing. One year I figured it might be fun to actually start teaching.

What inspired you to pursue the career you have today? During my first season I got a lot of training and thought the trainers and examiners had a great job and it looked like a lot of fun!

What’s something you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t yet? My wife and I want to take our boat up the inner passage to Alaska and back.

What surprised you most about working in this industry? How much I grew to enjoy the coaching part of skiing.

What lesson are you most grateful for learning? The more I teach the more I learn.
