The Alpine DECL (Division Education and Clinic Leader) team is a group of highly trained instructors who are responsible for running the various Alpine clinics and assessments that the Division offers.

Rodger Renstrom
Biography
How did you get your start in this career field? Started teaching skiing at Buck Hill Minnesota (where Lindsey Vonn got her racing start) and moved on to Snowbird to explore beyone Buck’s 300 feet of vertical.
What inspired you to pursue the career you have today? I managed to be surrounded by people who loved to teach skiing, starting with Eric Bloomquist at Buck Hill to Junior Bounous at Snowbird and many more.
What’s something you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t yet? HIke the length of the Highline Trail in the High Uintas Wilderness.
What surprised you most about working in this industry? Watching the evolution of ski hills and resorts focused on the ski experience morph into the corporatization of the industry.
What lesson are you most grateful for learning? There’s always more to learn.
