The Alpine DECL (Division Education and Clinic Leader) team is a group of highly trained instructors who are responsible for running the various Alpine clinics and assessments that the Division offers.

Biography

How did you get your start in this career field? Instructing at Song Mt. in Central NY in college.

What inspired you to pursue the career you have today? Hopelessly addicted to the turn! I also have a BS in Physical Education and an MS in Health Education. It was a natural fit for me, i.e. teaching a sport that I loved to do.

What’s something you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t yet? Riding my bike for a week in France and following the Tour de France.

What surprised you most about working in this industry? That there are many others out there with the same enthusiasm for the sport as myself.

What lesson are you most grateful for learning? Patience.

Please list your hidden talent(s): Not so hidden. Competitive triathlete with 9 national and world age group championship titles in both road and off-road triathlon; numerous 2nd and 3rd podium finishes over the past 20 years; competitive master’s cyclist with 15 podiums (2nd – 5th, but not the elusive national championship).
