IMD National Team Selection
Congratulations to the Intermountain nominees to the 2020 PSIA-AASI Team tryouts! We had 16 members attend the selection day for the 2020 PSIA-AASI
Team tryouts and we were inspired by their commitment to the process and to their own professional development. The talent on display was awesome!
Please join us in congratulating Derek Althof, Max Brennan, Stephen Helfenbein, Mike Janssen, Damion Lee, J Shawn McLennan, Chris Peltz,
Ann Schorling, and Mark Taylor for their nomination.
CEU Requirements and Inactive Status
Over the past year, the operational leaders across all eight divisions of PSIA-AASI have been working for consistency in our Continuing education policies.
The new CEU policy has slightly different wording and now allows members to carry forward six credits for one year after they are earned.
There will still be a delinquency fee if you do not maintain your CEUs, and after two years you will be changed to Inactive Status.
The new Inactive status policy allows members some flexibility in the event that they cannot work toward the CEU requirement if they are temporarily unable to.
You can now remain inactive for up to eight years. During that time you need to take 12 CEUs every four years.
After eight years you must move to another status (Alumni or registered) or return to active fulfillment of CEUs.
If you have questions about your status at renewal, please feel free to contact the office at 801-942-2066 or admin@psia-i.org.
If you would like to read the full text of the new policies, you may do so on
our website.
2019 Hall of Fame Inductees
IMD inducted two members into the Hall of Fame this year,
Stew Marsh and
Sal Raio.
They were recognized in Sun Valley, and their plaques will be installed at the Alf Engen Museum.
Stew Marsh began his career at Labrador Mountain in New York and was certified by PSIA-E in 1971. He moved to Utah in 1974 and has had an illustrious career at
Alta and Snowbasin and as an Alpine DECL. He was a PSIA Board Member for 27 years, the president for five of them and he was the IMD representative to the PSIA-AASI
for six years. He is now a lifetime member of the organization. We are proud to call Stew one of our own, and to induct him into the Intermountain Hall of Fame.
You can read his full biography on
our website.
Next month in Face Shots, we will highlight our second inductee, Sal Raio.
