Course Description:
This webinar is designed to help instructor's set goals and create a personalized training plan for the winter. We will explore the different types of training approaches, and how to understand and recognize skill acquisition vs. skill retention. A discussion of Deep Practice will provide opportunities for participants to start work on a training plan. This webinar is useful for any PSIA member who is pursuing a certification or wanting to improve/maintain their skiing skills.
Learning Outcomes
- Create a individualized season training plan
- Articulate and recognize the difference between the Acquisition Phase and the Retention Phase of motor skill development
- Understand the difference of Training for Learning, Training for Maintaining, and Training for Competition
- Articulate and implement the specifics of Deep Practice
All PSIA-AASI members must follow the PSIA-AASI code of conduct.
All members participating in an Intermountain clinic or assessment must wear a helmet when sliding on snow using lift-accessed terrain.
